Jango Fett - Stealth Mode by Robert-Shane Jango Fett - Stealth Mode by Robert-Shane
The design of Jango (and Boba) Fett's armour is a classic - but I decided to draw Jango in 'stealth mode' here because I wanted to see how cool I could make him look in black armour. I haven't seen this concept done before - but I think it works work well and makes an eye-catching image.

I thought this might be how he could have looked in the 'Attack of the Clones' movie when he assassinated Zam Wessel on Coruscant - perhaps using a variation of his armour for when he needed to creep around!

This is an entirely original depiction of the character - first drawn in pencil, then scanned in and coloured in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet.

Let me know what you think!

Awesome work! Apparently Mandalorians repaint their armor for different jobs or to to represent what they are doing/feeling with colors having specific meanings. Black represents justice.

Thanks Emily. I didn't know that - although I have heard about the different paint jobs having personal meanings. I just thought a black version would look cool - but I'm glad to hear it also represents justice which seems pretty fitting.

Yeah, it does look cool, and it's fitting. And as for the color meanings:

Red: Honoring a Father
Grey(or Gray, whichever): Mourning a Lost Love
Green: Duty
Gold: Vengeance
Blue: Reliability
Orange: Shereshoy- "lust for life and much more - uniquely Mandalorian word, meaning the enjoyment of each day and the determination to seek and grab every possible experience, as well as surviving to see the next day - hanging onto life and relishing it. An understandable state of mind/ emotion for a warrior people. Closely related to the words for live, hunt and stay safe - and, of course "oya". All from the same root"
And I've heard Tan: Family

As cool as this is, the color of his armor is suppose to mean something specific to Jango just like Boba's is suppose to mean something different. Its on a wiki page devoted to Mandalorians and their armor, it specifically states what each color is meant to convey to other Mandos who wouldn't need to know anything more than what just a glance at another Mando's armor can tell about what kind of guy they're dealing with. Still, great job with what you did here.

Thanks for the explanation about the different colours that the Mandos choose to wear. Does the wiki page explain why Boba's costume is different in Empire and Jedi (and now also in the Special Edition of New Hope)? His rockect pack and gauntlets are light green in Empire but the rocket pack is blue and the gauntlets are dark red in at other times.

[link] That link has the info on it. It basically states that the colors can represent a mindset of the Mando at that point in life. So in other words, they can change it as they're goals change. In fact, I read of this Mando who shows up way after Boba Fett is long dead named Hondo Karr who gets a new armor paint job when he finds out about he was sold out by the current Mand'alor. [link]

Thanks Mauricio. I tried very hard to get all the details correct - and I used a high resolution (600dpi for the original) to help get very clean, sharp lines.
