Star Wars - Super Trooper

If you've visited my page before you'll know that I like to draw Stormtroopers - so I'm always trying to think up interesting concepts to give me an excuse to paint yet another Stormtrooper picture as I continue my efforts to build up a portfolio of Star Wars art.

I doubt that Abba would be the band of choice for the Empire - but if Stormtroopers read comic-books - perhaps this is the character they all want to be?

This was drawn from scratch in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. Although I usually like to draw 'freehand' I used the marquee tool alot on this one to help keep the lines crisp on the armour. I also used a lot of layers and masks to keep the different sections separate. I don't usually use alot of adjustment layers - but I found on this one that adding a curve layer set to cross process with a low opacity helped bring out the metalic effect to the armour. This is a reduced resolution version of the original which is 5000 x 7000 pixels and 600dpi.
