Star Wars Unseen Scenes -Episode 4 by Robert-Shane Star Wars Unseen Scenes -Episode 4 by Robert-Shane
Most of my artwork I post here is done in 'portrait' style because I'd really like to draw a Star Wars comic cover one day! But I thought I should try to demonstrate that I can also create 'landscape' scenes too - so I've put together a series of three pictures depicting scenes that 'sort of' happened in the original Star Wars trilogy.

We all know that Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru were executed in Episode 4 (A New Hope) - and the grizzly revolution was pivotal in convincing Luke to begin his heroic journey. We didn't see actual the event - and we didn't need to (especially in a 'kids' movie) - but I thought it would be cool to imagine how it might have played out... especially if it had introduced us to Boba Fett's character!

This is an original depiction of characters created by George Lucas. It was drawn in Photoshop using a Wacom pad. Disney owns the copyright to Star Wars and its characters and this image is fan art that isn't for sale or reproduction.

Owen:   You don't have to do this! Please!

Boba Fett:   Light em up

This is so sad :( Poor Owen and Beru.
James-Polymer Featured By Owner Edited Oct 4, 2015
This reminds me of a spoof Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen "action figure" I saw a year ago; it consisted of two normal figures that had been burned to a crisp and broken apart. Thanks for making me feel guilty for laughing at it. T^T

If it was happened this execution on this moment which George Lucas or writters would had that idea for comics, but Luke Skywalker didn't know that his uncles were dead really.

nice idea.

I guess this add a new background to Vader's quote: "...and NO disintegrations"
thedelta0seven Featured By Owner Apr 24, 2016
pretty sure that was sposed to be the hint to him. as he doesn't say this to any other hunter ..only points to fett and points him out by saying that

an interesting scene

Nice artwork but I doubt Fett would've killed them it goes against his Mandalorian honor
thedelta0seven Featured By Owner Apr 24, 2016
he is a bounty hunter. the point was to kill them nothing in the hunters "honer" does it say he couldnt cook them. plus if you go by the comics. boba breaks the codes alot

Thank you, these people have done nothing and are completely defenseless.

I never really liked Boba Fett as much as the rest of the fandom, due to his overhype. If this scene had played out, I think I would have hated him (in a good way!) more.

They were killed by storm Trooper under the direct orders of Darth Vader. This was only established very recently
thedelta0seven Featured By Owner Apr 24, 2016
storm troopers of the time didn't have flame throwers to simply cook some one like they were portrayed plus the movies them selves drop the hint ..a massive one. of Vader pointing to fett and fett alone to remind him not to disintegrate him
Taranko Featured By Owner May 14, 2014
I just don't see Boba doing this, killing needlessly...
thedelta0seven Featured By Owner Apr 24, 2016
it wasnt needlessly. it was a job that vader hired him for..he did just go abit overboard
ZombieFighter116 Featured By Owner Nov 9, 2014
Neither do I. It's not like him to just kill people unless he's paid to.

thank you

Oh! painful but incredible piece! Interesting take. I've heard people say Fett did that, though I don't know its accuracy! Still awesome work, though!

What makes star wars a kids movie?

I totally love the art since it showed how ruthless Boba Fett is, but I don't think he would do that to innocent bystanders. As a man of honor like his father, I think he'll just shoot them in the head instead of burning them alive. I mean, burning an innocent alive is very sadistic, and that is not the Boba we all know. Sure, he murdered other people who have bounties on their heads in a gruesome way, but he only does that if they deserve it.
It's possible that the Stormtroopers, after they killed Owen and Beru, burned their corpses and left them there either because these troopers are in a hurry or they just want to show any faint-hearts who dared stand against the Empire.
If it is Boba Fett who did this, he might have done the same.

His flame thrower would have explained why they were reduced to frigging skeletons.
HARDGRAVE87 Featured By Owner Jan 1, 2014
I always wondered how owen and beru ended up charred corpse, I like what you've done here, is fett using his flamethrower or is he just blasting them?
Cryobash Featured By Owner Jan 1, 2014
That would have been really nice, but it's quite a longshot to imagine Fett in there because he doesn't really fit: the Empire know where the escape pod crashed, and has the planet secured, retrieving the droids was only a matter of time, they didn't really need a specialized bounty hunter...

I'm betting that Boba Fett would have been liked a whole lot less if this had happened in the movie.

I read about Boba Fett killing Luke's uncle & aunt in an speculation article a few months back & totally thought that would've been the best thing to see on screen, especially for Boba's first appearance. Awesome artwork!
CrystalSabre Featured By Owner Nov 21, 2013  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Their bodies were skeletons, from a fierce fire.  Close blaster fire would surely have vaporised them, right?  Or am I thinking too Star Trek here?  I like Star Trek, too.  This is well drawn and all, but too grim a subject for me.  I could handle a what if Luke joined the Emperor scene in ROTJ, but that's about it.
FireballStardraco Featured By Owner Nov 19, 2013
I think this is probably the most questionable scene of all, we all know they died and the Storm Troopers were responsible, but how did it happen? Was it like this scene your portrait or was it different? That is a question alot of people will wonder.

And this scene I feel is ideal for it too, it would of been nice to see an introduction to Boba Fett and see a slight more darker side to Star Wars, of course keeping it child friendly.

That would certainly explain things. No one's ever been shown burnt to a crisp by a blaster bolt. Their corpses left a very obvious question unanswered.
CarlitosMoff Featured By Owner Nov 17, 2013
Man... that's grim.
VoadorChama Featured By Owner Nov 17, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
I'm kind of glad that this scene was never done, because if Boba Fett had killed Beru and Owen, I would have hated him, and Boba is one of my favorite characters.....amazing artwork, though, as always!
Lord-Kiyo Featured By Owner Nov 17, 2013
I seen a video that was like COPS but it was Troopers.  And they showed what happened.  and it was a domesticated violence call.  Kind of like the troopers were not really bad guys at all.  And the Jawas were criminal thives that got pulled over and the situation got out of hand.  dont know if you seen this video, but it was cool and well done.

However I think what you got here is probably not too far off.

so...did or didn't Fett kill them?
who said EP 4 was a "kids movie"? >.>
Simbacca Featured By Owner Nov 17, 2013
Cool idea, although this make Fett seem more sinister but after all bounty hunters are scum.
oldmanwinters Featured By Owner Nov 17, 2013
Man, the original trilogy would have been even cooler if Boba Fett had a more pervasive role from the beginning!
MandalorianKnight Featured By Owner Nov 17, 2013  Hobbyist Photographer
This is really awesome, I wonder if it ever said on how they died.
