The Avengers

The amazing, and much-deserved, success of the movie made me want to create my own picture of the Avengers. I went to the cinema twice to see it - and I haven't been to see the same film twice in a long time!

I chose to feature Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk as these are very much the backbone of the movie. I decided to paint them all in their 'classic' comic-book costumes - the ones that, for me at least, will always represent how I think of these characters.

This was drawn in pencil first then coloured in Photoshop using a Wacom pad. This is a much reduced resolution version of the original which is 600dpi. It took a very long time - and I'm pleased with how it turned out - though I'd be very interested to hear what others think?

I also think this piece reflects how much my abilities have improved over the last 18 months or so since I've been submitting work here. Hopefully I'm moving closer to having some work published some time!
