Hi folks,

A lack of time and inspiration have sadly kept me away from drawing or checking out what's been going on here for a while. But there have been a lot of you who have been kind enough to comment on and fav my artwork - so I want to apologize for not replying sooner. I'm going through those comments and will try to respond to each as quickly as possible.

If you're here - you're probably a fan of art and of Star Wars art in particular - so if you haven't already seen it I think you'll be interested to see that the legendary Joe Johnston is posting interviews and speedpaints about his artwork on Youtube! In case you didn't know - he's responsible for a great many of the character and ship designs in the Star Wars universe - so this is 'must-see' stuff and I'd urge you to check out and subscribe/like his Youtube channel and Facebook page:…

So what else has been going on? Oh yeah - Star Wars 'Rebels' is on its way!:
...obviously there's not much out there about this yet and I haven't seen much to get me enthused enough to produce some fan art around this - so I'd be interested to hear what anyone else thinks about what's been shown of the concept and characters so far?

Nice to hear from you.  Umm... I wish they'd animate some of the Old Republic stuff, like... I'm really into this comic series Knights of the Old Republic, set some years before the game we know and love and is about the adventures of a Jedi named Zayne Carrick.  I would so love to see him in an animated format, like Clone Wars style (the longer running shows, not the little five minute ones).  Still, I'd like to give Rebels a chance.  I didn't have the sound on it... Are the episodes gonna be long, like more than 10?

Thank you - and thanks also for commenting! Like you say - we'll have to give Rebels a chance - and I'm just happy that they'll be continuing to put out new stuff after finishing the Clone Wars. It's perhaps a surprise they've decided to cover this period - but I think it does give a lot of scope to use all of the cool-looking Imperial era characters and ships that made the original trilogy so popular. I don't think details of episode length have been released - but I think it's going to start with a 'feature length' episode - a bit like how the Clone Wars started - so I think they'll be replicating that format (which I think was about 20-25 minutes per episode.

The Inquisitor was a shock for some people...Lets hope he won´t be a fail like the CIS Villians...

New Mechs and Ships for the Empire...The AT-DP or should we say the Marvel comics AT-AR from Joe :)

The only downside for me as a design freak were the Stormtroopers...they look derpy...

're exactly right about the AT-DP - and thanks for the reminder about the concept being used by Marvel all those years ago!

And I'm 100% with you on the Stormtroopers... I draw them a lot - so I feel I know their design pretty well - and it's a classic.  So the way they've kind of smoothed all the hard edges for the cartoon is a surprise and I think it's gonna take some getting used to!

I need to see more of The Inquisitor... but if I do draw some fan art of the show - I'm thinking it's probably going to be something of him - but not sold on his character or design... yet!
