Another addition to my gallery of Star Wars trooper drawings - and probably the last (at least for now)!

This was drawn in Photoshop using a Wacom pad.

After seeing ROTJ in theaters I wanted a real-life copy of the Scout Trooper Armor. The regular Stormtroopers were cool but I just loved the scout Trooper Armor design. It seemed more flexible to me. I think Lucas had them make up the Scout Troopers costume design because if they tried to place regular Stormtroopers on those speeder bikes they could not move well in the costumes. The Storm Trooper armor prevented real range of motion of the speeder bike pilots and so with the Scouts, the armor was lighter and left more flexibility for the persons in the costume. One example, is the scouts could turn their heads with the helmet on and Storm Troopers could not if you ever notice. They had to move their whole body to turn to see anything. This carried over into Episode two of the Prequels when the ARC Trooper armor was WAY better and more flexible when we see them. Even in Episode III, the evolution of the armor was still more flexible. In TFA we see the new storm troopers with better flexibility too.
