Description
I've posted several of my Star Wars drawings here already - but I thought it was time to show that I can draw more than Stormtroopers! So what could be more different than a selection of the female characters from the Star Wars universe.
My main focus of this piece was the composition - and I knew I wanted to have the lightsabers set out symetrically - and to use them as framing devices within the piece. So my selection of characters and their positioning was partly determined by who has what lightsaber.
The first thing I tackled was to draw Jedi Leia's face. This is a variation of her character from the 'expanded universe' of stories - so I'm guessing that not everyone will be familiar with the idea of her as a Jedi. So I knew that if I got her face wrong - nobody would know who she's supposed to be! I'm pretty pleased with how the likeness turned out - I used some photo reference - but it's not a straight copy as I altered the angle.
This is an original drawing - first done in pencil - then ink - before being scanned and coloured in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. It was drawn at a very high-resolution - the Photoshop file is over 400mb.
Hope you like!
